Vietnam bird photography tour

Glossy Ibises (Plegadis falcinellus), known in Vietnamese as Cò thìa nâu or Cò mỏ cong.

Identification Features:

  • Long, down-curved bill.

  • Slender neck and long legs.

  • In flight, they appear uniformly dark, but in good light, their plumage reveals a glossy bronze-green sheen.

  • Distinctive silhouette with the bill and legs extended in flight.

Habitat:

Glossy Ibises are often found in wetlands, marshes, and flooded fields, which makes Tràm Chim National Park a suitable habitat for them, especially during migration or breeding seasons.
