The bird in your photo is a Vinous-breasted Starling (Acridotheres burmannicus), known in Vietnamese as Sáo ngực đỏ, Sáo đá, or Sáo sậu.

Key characteristics:

  • Pale vinous (pinkish-brown) breast and underparts.

  • Black flight feathers with contrasting white wing patches.

  • Pale head with a dark eye-stripe.

  • Medium-sized starling with a pointed yellowish bill.

Habitat:

Commonly found in open woodlands, agricultural fields, and urban areas. It is a resident or local migrant in parts of Southeast Asia, including the Mekong Delta region, which includes Tràm Chim National Park.
